Got a date now 27th octobers pre op assessment. Possible op on 3rd nov have to isolate 3 days before all very real now feeling scared, but will be glad to have it out, then the fun begins. I don't think, depends whether I need radiotherapy after, they don't know yet.
Will be relived when the ops over im all prepared.
Hi popsysmum,
so glad you have some firm information, and you can plan towards getting healthy knowing we can eventually put all this fear and worry behind us. 3 days isolation is so good, I had to self isolate for 14 days and all I wanted was distraction and contact with my family at a time I so needed them. Fill your time, get organised for when you come home so you can take it easy and heal. I will be thinking of you, and here if you want a chat. Lots of love Emm xx
Hi , having a op date is both a relief and nerve wracking. Its a one step at a time thing really, get the op out the way then waiting on the histology report to see what and if you need the extra treatment. I was lucky to only have to have the surgery but I leant from all the wise ladies before me that although we cannot help but be worried about any extra treatment we may need to get rid of the cancer it’s also best not to worry too much about it until the time comes. Believe me I know it’s easier said then done but it does help.
Sending best wishes for your op and a gentle bear hug

Hi . The strange think is we all felt terrified as the date draws nearer then after most of us wonder what all the fuss was about. Now's the time to clean out kitchen cupboards, invest in some Bridget Jones' unless you already have done LOL!
Have you seen the link What to take in my overnight bag? If not I'll send it over!
I was also stage 1B, had 3 x brachytherapy sessions only. they won't be sure what adjuvant treatments are needed if any until histology results are in approx. 2 weeks after surgery.
Big hugs, Barb x
