Hello Stargazy, i am sorry you got an infection on top of everything else. However i am really pleased you didn’t have any pain after the op, and home same day that’s amazing. How many rounds of chemo are they giving you? And as we day onwards and upwards.
sending a gentle bear hug
Hi GBear, probably six rounds. These were preliminary results given to me by breast care nurse yesterday,as she said to give me time to absorb the information before seeing the surgeon on Monday,I expect she will then refer me to an oncologist.for a treatment plan.Forgot to say above there was no lymph node cancer so that's a blessing.x
.
Hi Stargazy. I hope you're still making steady progress since your op and the infection is under control. Good news about the lymph nodes.
I hope you get your treatment plan soon and the chemo goes well.
Big hugs, Barb x

Hi everyone, yesterday was given the news that no further treatment was needed. The M.D.T meeting decided that chemo or radiotherapy would be of no be no great benefit as the tumour was removed with good margins.Cant help but think had I been younger the decision would be different.
The plan is a check up in six months, then annual mammograms on remaining breast. X
Hi Stargazy,
I think if they are pretty sure they got all the cancer they save radiotherapy as a back up plan, as you can't have more than one lot of radiotherapy in one place. I was told that when I had my operation, and 4 years later I'm OK!!! As I understand it, if the cancer is completely contained in that bit of the body, and the bit is removed you should be OK.
Been thinking of you a lot as my husband has just had bowel cancer removed 14 years after throat cancer!! Why do some people get away scot free and others get a double dose? xxxx
I feel for you NannyAnny, between my husband and I this is four times cancer has struck, but you know we are still here.I hope your husbands bowel op is as successful as my Tom's,he has just been signed off from the hospital as it's been five yrs. No recurrence. Fingers crossed for your husbandx
Hi Stargazy, I’ve been catching up on posts and very sorry to hear about all you’ve been going through. As NannyAnny said, the doctors will have weighed up all the pros and cons before making their decision. They may well feel it’s best to hold them in reserve but I can u derstand you feeling anxious, especially after everything you and your husband have been through. I hope all goes well. Thinking of you.
