Hi everyone. I just wondered, do we know of any famous women who survived womb cancer? I tried looking online but I couldn't find anyone who was currently high-profile. We hear a lot about breast cancers and skin cancers, and a little about cervical and bowel and others, but nobody seems to hit the headlines with womb cancer. I understand why women would not want to discuss it; the symptoms and investigations are probably a bit "too much information" for the squeamish, and also how much do we want others to know about our internal anatomy? Someone asked me to appear in a vlog about it (I am not famous, by the way!) and although initially keen, I chickened out. I thought of scenarios such as a future employer finding out something I chose not to disclose for general information, and also online trolls. Any thoughts?
Hi LittleRunner,
I think you have a good point about future employers, and trolls. When I had womb cancer I was quite insistent that both my daughters put the fact on facebook, with the warning about what to look out for, and to get seen quickly. I felt that if they warned their friends and contacts, then that was the best I could do. I am retired, so had no worries about work. I think I may have felt differently if I had been working. xxx
