Hi I'm 1 month on from radical hysterectomy and lymph node removal for cervical cancer 1b1 level 2.
I have a weird numbness around my pelvic area and bad nerve pain in both my legs but I think that's from my back with the position on the table and not being as mobile. My main concern is really bad pain on my right side of my belly button. Literally from just above the pelvic area and to above my belly button. It is so sore every time I move. It feels like its pulling and its really painful. The left side....nothing...like everyone the wind has been horrific and I still struggle with trapped wind and that all seems to be on the right hand side too...does anything think this is normal or should I phone and query it...only 4 weeks into what the consultant said would be 12 so am I just being silly !!!! Thanks
Hello Hatfre,
you know we all heal very differently but it’s always important to report when your getting really bad pain. Yes its of course possible that some pain is related to the position we are in during surgery and also there is still possible to get pain from the surgery itself as its very early days still, however I would always recommend telephoning your medical team and letting them know about where all the pain is etc. Now with the trapped wind I found peppermint tea pretty gentle and fairly refreshing too. Please don’t feel silly at all because your not and always good to ask when your in any doubt whatsoever.
i hope you can get some relief very soon and sending a gentle bear hug

Hello Hatfre,
I had similar surgery for womb cancer last year, and had pretty bad pain afterwards, which I was told was scar tissue forming. In my case it was on my left side. I did check with the specialist nurse, and she was reassuring that it was basically a good (if painful) thing. My pain did go on for about 4 weeks, so I hope you'll see some improvement soon.
