Hi ladies, I hope you are all well. I have had 3 sessions of chemo for a recurrence and I'm getting a very watery discharge. Has anyone else experienced this? It smells a bit like urine so I don't know if my bladder has been affected.
Thanks
Nannasuki x
Hi nannasuki I'm sorry you haven't had a reply yet from your post from yesterday. I haven't had chemo so not much help I'm afraid. I've never heard of it as a side effect. Where was your recurrence could it be linked to that? I'd certainly find out at your next session or from your team.
Thanks for posting, Papermoon. I've done a bit of research and temporary incontinence is sometimes a side effect of the chemo mix I'm having. Hopefully it will resolve once the chemo drugs are out of my system in the next few months.
Hope your keeping well and safe x
Hi Nannasuki,
I haven't had chemo, either, so can't say. I do think my bladder has never been the same since my operation 3 years ago!! I daren't 'wait a minute' like I used to do. If I feel the need to go, I have to!!!
This site has certainly quietened down recently, but I suppose there aren't the hospital appointments the same.

Good morning nannasuki. I haven't had chemotherapy either but my bladder and bowels have never been right since my surgery almost a year ago. As nannyanny says when you've gotta go you gotta go. Very little warning now and the bowels have a mind of their own with very little warning. Why not give your CNS a ring ? Hope it resolves itself soon. God bless. Love lamb.xx
Hi
This is something you should definitely mention to the professionals taking care of you. Are you able to call your clinical nurse specialist? I’d be doing this right away if I were you. It might be completely normal of course but you shouldn’t really have something that smells like urine leaking from your vagina. Not an easy conversation to have, I do get that. I’ve found it helpful to stand in front of a mirror abc practice saying it out loud. “I’m calling because I have liquid that smells like urine leaking from my vagina. Is this normal?”
I hope the CNS or your oncologist is able to set your mind at rest.
xx
Hi Daloni,
The wee is coming from urethra not my vagina. Sorry I didn't make that clear. It's got a lot lighter over last couple of days as I feel a bit more in control if my bladder. I've noticed that I leak whenever I put any pressure or stress on my bladder so I'm doing more pelvic floor exercises which I hope will help. I will be having a phone call with my consultant this week so will chat to net about it.
Thanks for your advice, take care
Nannasuki xx
Oh I see, ! sorry for my my misunderstanding. That’s a completely different kettle of fish altogether. My mind had gone to fistula when I thought it was coming out of your vagina. Yes, do mention your bladder troubles. Show me the middle aged woman who’s had hysterectomy and children and I’ll show you the woman with bladder trouble. That doesn’t mean we should put up with it
