Fluid around the spleen

Hello ladies,

I hope that you are all managing to keep this Corona virus at bay and also that you are all as well as you can be.

Last week I had a CT scan of the abdomen prior to having  a colonoscopy which was Wednesday this week. Yesterday I received a phone call from the scanner unit asking me to go for a further scan but this time for the chest. So I asked the person who rang who asked for this to be done & she said the Consultant. My next call was to his secretary who at first could not see anything on the notes, but then told me that the radiographer had asked for it to be done. The secretary said that if she could speak to the Consultant then she would call me. I do know that when I had the ultrasound which was the first thing done about 3 weeks ago the girl who did the scan said that there was fluid around the spleen,so guess that this was also seen on the abdominal CT,hence the phone call.

I am wondering has anyone else had this type of thing to do with the spleen.

Thank you in advance for any advice anyone can give.

Georgette xx

  • Hi georgette I'm sorry you haven't had a reply to your post obviously it's not something anyone else has experienced. I remember you from the old days when I posted under Katsil. I was diagnosed 4 years ago but had a recurrence last summer. I hope you find out that the problem is nothing terrible and can be easily resolved. There is enough to worry about with coronavirus and trying to avoid hospitals.

  • Hi, Lovely to hear from you, thank you for replying. It was a shot in the dark really but just wondered if anyone had experienced this.

So sorry to hear that you have had a recurrence, and hope that things are better for you now.

Stay safe from the Corona virus.
