Hi there

not been on for a while.
I’m looking for advice.
I had my biopsy done 10 and a half weeks ago and I’m still waiting on my results.
I have contacted the surgeons secretary several times and she just says there’s been an unexpected delay and that they will weight to me as soon as they get the results.
my stress levels are through the roof. I was wondering if anyone else had this situation.
my doctor said yesterday that no news is good news but I’m a nervous wreck.
thanks

  • First off, your doctor is an idiot. No news doesn't mean good news, it means there's no news. Nothing else can be assumed from that.

If I were you, I'd get in touch with PALS at your hospital and ask if they can find anything out. Because 11 weeks is too long to wait with no proper explanation as to why.

I have no medical training, everything I post is an opinion or educated guess. It is not medical advice.

  • Hi,

I think that's too long. I would keep ringing her, and tell her you want to know where you are in the pile. Things can go missing easily. xxx

    Hi there

thanks for taking your time to help me.
I feel this is far too long to wait. My nerves are shattered.
I’m starting to worry that they’ve lost it.

im going to phone them again just now.
I think this is an awful amount of time to leave anyone waiting.
    thanks guys Kissing heart

I just phoned there and was told that the lab has a backlog and that it’s taking ten weeks.
I explained that I’m nearly eleven weeks since biopsy was taken and she just apologised and said that hopefully I won’t be waiting much longer.
I don’t actually know how much stress I can take.
I take tablets for my high blood pressure and had to have them doubled this week.
I’m sure it’s just the state I’m getting myself into.
thanks againKissing heartKissing heart I really appreciate yous taking the time to answer me. Sending yous massive hugsKissing heartxxx

  • It's a tragedy that rectifying the inadequate staffing of pathology and radiology departments is not given a greater priority.  Successful treatment of patients depends on their work.  Doctors and nurses are powerless unless the situation improves.
