Maybe I am just being paranoid but now that the pain has receded, it feels as if my vagina lips do not close properly. I thought at first they were just swollen but it is now 3 weeks post op and they still feel slightly open and I notice it now I am more mobile. Could it be a prolapse?, I thought they sewed it all up. It is now 3 weeks since my operation. I have been doing my pelvic floor exercises faithfully and when I do I can feel a noticeable pulling up inside. Or does it just fake a while to settle down. Any advice appreciated.
Hi there x
I had a few weird feelings post op and wondered about prolapse but I think in my case it was just post surgery settling down...my womb was delivered vaginally and I never had kids so it was all a bit traumatic for my body. It all feels normal now but it took a few months to get there. Also I was (still am a bit) hyper aware of my body and worried about everything! If you’re concerned about it though I would get in touch with your cns or GP as they might give you a quick examination to check things are ok. It’s only to be expected that things take a while to feel normal again but at the same time if you’re worried there’s no harm in getting a check up. Well done for doing your pelvic floor exercises...I need to get into the habit of it!!
Take care

Hi Nightingale,
I am two years post op and still have weird feelings in that region. It usually feels worse when I have a bowel movement imminent, and once I've been the front end feels better! I've decided its the new me, and everything has been pushed into a different place. Everything is probably that little bit less stretchy. I'm sure the bowels are different because they now have more space!! You are still early days. xxxx
Hi Ladies
you mention pelvic floor exercises but I haven’t been given any information regarding this. I’ll ask about it tomorrow. Thanks for posting because even little things you think everybody is aware of, may be an unknown to some like me.

HI Nightingale, hope you're doing OK now, a year on. I'm 5 months post-op and have similar sensations : feels like I'm hollowed out below and vaginal lips not touching (but they are - and it all looks OK). Hopefully some of this will pass in time. I have had a lot of nerve pain / numbness in front of my thighs (and pubic area immediately post-op) so perhaps it's all connected. I noticed yesterday that I could now feel when I touched my left thigh (had no sensations there before). Like you, I've been practising my pelvic floor exercises, and am having a CT scan later this month, As I haven't seen a gynae doctor since day of my op last October am looking forward to my appointment so I can ask lots of questions! I did see an oncologist before brachytherapy, and have had a teleappointment with him about 3 months ago. Take care Dx
