Just been told the lining of my womb is 6.5 ml. I’m booked in for a Hysteroscopy tomorrow.
any thoughts?
6.5mm isn't really that bad in the scheme of things and you're getting it checked-out, which is the main thing. I always have pain relief when I have a hysteroscopy or biopsy. There is pain relief available, in the form of local anaesthetic into the cervix and/or gas and air. Some ladies have the procedure under general anaesthetic though. It's all a matter of personal choice. Good wishes.
Hi Caroley
I hope that your hysteroscopy goes ok tomorrow.
In post menopausal ladies any lining over 5mm would lead to further investigation. So its a normal next step. They need to take a closer look.
Hyperplasia can be different types, some are more concerning than others. They would normally take some biopsies to rule out cancer. So your endometrium is slightly thicken than they would like so they are checking it out.
Good luck for tomorrow. Do let us know if there is anything you need.
Jane
