I decided to start a thread for any arts and crafts you do and want to share. I know I post in others but I just wanted to share how much its helping to calm my mind and would definitly recommend everyone having a go. You don't have to be prefect just happy with your own achievement. Its Daloni that actually gave me this idea for a thread with her wonderful things she makes. So here is our very own girls.

My latest project...

I have done the shading but I think I may add some colour maybe watercolor not totally decided yet.

  • Well it was well worth the wait they’re great and i am sure will be appreciated

  • I hope you enjoy my latest, my barn owl family. Painting is definitely something that's kept me sane. I can lose myself to my paintings and its between me and the canvas sort if speak.

Did this on black watercolor paper in gouache, I am actually really starting to like this medium and all the really fun ways you play with the colours and how they go onto the paper.

Aww..so sweet gbear. You depict the details of the feathers so well..they look so realistic. When I'm in my garden later watching the birds arguing over the feeders I shall think of your owl family. There aren't any where I live. The traffic has pushed them all out now although I remember hearing them booting when I was a child. That's one thing that has been good about this lockdown and shielding. It has made me appreciate nature even more..the peace and quiet, the dawn chorus, insects and flowers. I've spent many a lunchtime in the garden watching bees buzzing in and out of flowers, birds and their funny little antics, particularly in the birdbath and even trees swishing and swaying in the breeze. Sadly the traffic noise has increased again now as people return to work drowning everything out. Still it was nice while it lasted. You take care now. God bless. Love lamb.xx

  • This was done in gouache again on black watercolour paper, I have now framed it and giving it to a friend for his birthday.

I did this with watercolour paint, i like falcons, i like bird of prey actually been a good reminder of a wonderful time i had with a bird of prey experience it was so enjoyable to learn about how gentle they are when they laid on you its so very strange and majestic about them.

Gbear, your paintings are getting better and better. The detailing is phenomenal. Like Robbo said, I'm glad you are framing them. Do you ever sell them or given thought to exhibiting them? They are wonderful birds and that medium displays the paintings at their best. God bless and take care. Love Lamb.xx

  • A little thing to give you a bit of joy today. I did this with hard and soft pastels on velour pastel paper

Beautiful GBear your talent as an artist grows with each painting you do xx

  • I hope everyone is ok and that the site upgrade isnt causing too much stress, yes it will take some getting used too but i hope its not too difficult for our members.

Well I drew these little friends on Monday with my soft pastels and hard pastels sample set. I have decided to get a set of hard pastels as them seem to do detail work a lot easier. Found also that pastels soft or hard behave different on different pastel paper so that's going to take some getting used too.
