I decided to start a thread for any arts and crafts you do and want to share. I know I post in others but I just wanted to share how much its helping to calm my mind and would definitly recommend everyone having a go. You don't have to be prefect just happy with your own achievement. Its Daloni that actually gave me this idea for a thread with her wonderful things she makes. So here is our very own girls.

My latest project...

I have done the shading but I think I may add some colour maybe watercolor not totally decided yet.

  • Me and my pastels, I have done these over the last couple of days

  • I have been working on a few portraits but this is my work in progress

Can you guess who it is?

also did a pastel drawing of a couple of kingfishers

I have also been doing a few portraits of friends too and its helping my confidence to do them. I will share if they let me, but a couple are surprises so I can't ask yet

  • your picture is fantastic. You are very talented. x

  • your pictures are very good. Your technique is improving in leaps and bounds. How nice that you have the confidence to do portraits now. I hope you’re doing ok x

  • Thank you , portrait drawing or even painting was one thing that i was scared of doing, lack of confidence I suppose. But I wanted to over come it, so i did a portrait for a couple friends then i ve started this one and I just try to iron out my technique, i go back to my art class tomorrow, which I am nervous about but everything has been put in place for safety and covid protection. It be nice to get back in to it although I have done a fair amount during the lockdown art wise having that professional help makes a big difference confidence wise.

Thank you Fairycake and Gbear, you're very kind. Yes it is in watercolour. I've been working in recent months on making my watercolours less pale and more colourful.

  • G bear, your portrait is very good. I can attempt scenes, but never portraits!

I received a picture the other day of my youngest grand daughter wearing her favourite cardigan. The sleeves were about 3 inches above her wrists!!  I'm knitting her a bigger one. She chose the colours, and I had instructions to put hearts on as well as the dolls!!
