Hi all, I was prescribed senna tablets but not working for me at all . I rang helpline and switched to Movicol on day 2 and it has done the trick ! Best day 3 yet and no abdominal pain or sharp stomach twinges at all which I had put down to chemo side affects . Chemo 3 on Tuesday .
however , insomnia still persistent despite taking steroids very early at 4.30 am and 9.30 am, (so 4.5 hour to 5 hours sleep seems the norm for first 3 or 4 days after chemo ).
very best wishes
Hi Beepeep
Steroids affected me and it helped when I was put on a tapering dose. Maybe worth asking about.
Good luck for round 3 on Tuesday.

Even better! Its a good feeling to get half way through. Although I felt more tired for the last ones- they did seem to go more quickly and feel a bit easier- I think because you know what to expect.
Yes definitely more tired cycle 3 compared to cycle one.
My last chemo is 30 July so just wondering if it is over ambitious to go to see Robbie Williams on 23 August before 3 brackytherapy! Probably mad to consider but will miss his tour otherwise .
I wonder if i can ask for a blood test to check immunity in week 3 as even if I had the energy, might be too risky .
I had that conversation about blood test 3 or 4 weeks time with one of my nurses on Tuesday, for me to judge when I would be OK to going swimming again and she didn’t say much apart from my bloods will recover and I will have a blood test in 3 months time around time when I have first post op scan. Will be interested in what response you get
Ah many thanks for the information waidh and will add to this post as soon as I hear anything. Offered CT scan after chemo 4 to help with anxiety ( or not !) which I am grateful for ( last one took place December 24).
did I read that you have finished treatment now - that is fantastic .
very best wishes.
Thanks yes I have thought about that. I haven’t really had any contact with GP throughout my treatment. I might also put it into writing to my hospital nurses first, they don’t like to tell me too much about the blood results the day before chemo, when I ask they just say they are good to go. I then get the full details on my NHS app on the Saturday, so thinking of waiting to see what those are first.
