So, went in for my results. Mixed bag. Not really sure how to feel about it. Pre histology it was grade 1 stage 1a. Now grade 2 stage 1b. Nurse said I will get appointment through to discuss adjuvant therapy which I'm assuming is a precaution as she said cancer removed. Just trying to get my head round what it all means
My oncologist told me that the NICE recommendation for starting radio treatment is within 12 weeks of hysterectomy. I saw her about ten days after getting my results - my CNS kindly chased the appointment for me as I was extremely anxious after my results and was phoning her most days asking if she knew when it would be! My planning mini CT was 3 weeks after that and I started treatment a month later. So all in all, for me it was just over 11 weeks from results to starting radio.

What happens about lymph nodes. It's not been mentioned to me and I'm assuming not removed because initial staging was grade 1 and stage 1 but obviously that changed post histology and now there is the LVSI. Are they not routinely checked so that's the risk?
With me, none of mine showed as enlarged on the staging MRI and I was predicted grade 1 stage 1a so mine weren’t sampled during my op. My treatment was to cover any stray cells that might have gone further.
Once again it’s different hospitals having different ways of doing things.
Thanks. I have my appointment with oncologist week on Monday to discuss treatment options but this extensive LVSI is really freaking me out. My CNS didn't seem concerned but I've read lots of scary percentages of reoccurrence when you have this. So I'm getting myself really worked up. I'm hoping that treatment improves these percentages but can't seem to find much information on it
I feel for you that you have another week to wait, and I can empathise with the anxiety, but please please can I urge you to stop googling and wait and ask your oncologist as he/she will be a in a much better position to give you relevant and up to date answers and stats. If not already I’d suggest you make a list of questions to take with you in case your mind goes blank when you’re there.
