Hello,

I’ve had two failed hysteroscopy due to scarring from an endometrial ablation. I am post menopausal  (53 years old) and had some bleeding, pelvic pain, lower abdominal cramps and thickened womb lining 14mm - identified on a transvaginal scan.  The doctor will discuss  my case at their next review this week and advise on next steps. She mentioned possible MRI scan or hysterectomy.  Just wondering if anyone else has been in this position?

  • Hi, sorry  to hear you’ve had such a long wait. I hope it goes well tomorrow. I had my second Hysteroscopy under GA on Saturday. I didn’t feel a thing and felt fine afterwards.  I hope you get the results more sooner than advised. I was informed I would get my results 2,weeks after the operation. Thinking of you x

  • Thank you. Yes it's definitely been a  tough few months...don't know how much more I can take tbh. 2 weeks seems to be average apart from where I live...they are shocking!!! Hope everything turns out well for you too x

  • Thank you. The surgeon is due to discuss my case tomorrow.  Hopefully they’ll get back to me soon. Like you I just want to know the prognosis and next steps.  I’m not sure what they’ll do after 2 failed Hysteroscopies.  The waiting is the hardest part.  X

  • DebAP, were these under local or under GA?

  • Hi, one under local and one under GA. Due to scarring from an endometrial ablation 4 years ago they couldn’t access my womb to take a biopsy.
