Hi,
I just got diagnosed with grade 3 endometrial cancer this morning. I was immediately sent for a CT scan and am booked in for a MRI tomorrow, as well as meeting a specialist. I understand everyone is different but I am now so worried it may have spread and what stage I am at. I just wanted to see what other people who had grade 3 went through. And the treatment plans etc. Trying not start thinking the worse but its so hard not to.
Oh I am really pleased for you it’s awful isn’t it ! So was it picked on mri as stage 1a ?
Yes, my MRI was stage 1a grade 3. It reminded that after the hysterectomy as well. I was also panicking as I'd read a few people's stage drastically changing after the hysterectomy and had convinced myself I'd have the same outcome.
That’s exactly what I am doing !! As I read grade 3 can go into lymph not picked up on mri I got fixated on size of tumour as well and I can’t google anymore as it’s making me really sick with worry and I am having the op on Thursday which I am also terrified of too :( did you have the robotic one ?
It was supposed to have been robotic but I ended up having the laparscope. The op was fine. I was so worried before but all went to plan. I was'nt in any pain after and three weeks on, would say I'm 98% back to normal. The first week I totally rested up, but ever since have been up and about. My doctor said MRI's are usually pretty accurate so if it shows no Lymph invasion then it probably will stay the same after the op. I know that's easier said than done as I was the same as you, reading everything before hand and focusing on the worst case senarios!
You must feel so relieved x it’s because he mentioned they do sentinel node biopsy and inject a dye into the nodes to see what shows up so I am so scared it will be in their and goes to a stage 3 which he still said us curative but sounds too scary for me to process
He said sometimes mri doesn’t pick all the small nodes :(
Yes I am relieved but am also still a bit worried that I've been told no further treatment is needed as I've read most people who were grade 3 had radiation after as a precaution but my doc doesn't seem to think I need it. I guess no matter the news you will still always find something to worry about, but I am trying to just focus on the positive now and get on with life!
I am at the Christie’s in manchester and that’s what they said, if it’s contained it’s the op only x
That’s what they said yes ! Is that what you mean ?
