Hi,

I just got diagnosed with grade 3 endometrial cancer this morning.  I was immediately sent for a CT scan and am booked in for a MRI tomorrow, as well as meeting a specialist. I understand everyone is different but I am now so worried it may have spread and what stage I am at. I just wanted to see what other people who had grade 3 went through. And the treatment plans etc. Trying not start thinking the worse but its so hard not to.

  • Understandably, that is a normal reaction as it is scary and I think the consultants deal with it so much that they don't understand the impact of their honesty sometimes. All I can say is the consultants.will do whatever is best for you and hopefully you will get positive results. In the meantime, maybe try to come up with something that will reassure you IF the results are not good, like a mantra reminding you that you will be in good hands and, in the meantime, focus on doing things that bring you pleasure to prepare you to be as healthy as possible for the surgery x

  • Thank you I am holding onto what they are saying and it’s stage 1a that’s what the nurses said x just need to stop googling x

  • In regard's to staging l know you can’t stop worrying but I hope this helps. I was provisionally staged at 3c after mri and ct scan, however after post op results I was 1b so you can be down staged as well. So it can work the other way.

  • Shirleydana, Dr Google should be struck off because all he/she does is randomly spew out outdated, unrelated, irrelevant and sometimes outright wrong info, and scare people to death. When I was told I had cancer (over the phone), I was also given the phone number of my CNS. I phoned her right away to introduce myself and one of the first things she told me was not to Google but to only use my team and the Macmillan site for info. That advice stood me in good stead.

  • I just got really scared as I just bled out of nowhere and huge clot :(
