Hello ladies

Finally got the call I've been waiting for! Starting Immunotherapy this Friday 21st October. It seems I'll be watched like a hawk for the whole 30 minutes!

Also got new pain meds yesterday so they're going to work hopefully. Once is a slow release over 12 hours, the other is a quick fix!

I'll update you after the treatment.

Hugs to all, Barb xx

  • Fantastic news Barb, I expect that they will be keeping a close eye on you throughout your treatment not just for the 30 mins while it's being administered. Hope that the new pain relief works better too.

Will be thinking of you Friday,  let us know how it goes.

    Hugs Robin xxx

  • Such good news you finally have your start date Barb. Hoping it will all go smoothly for you.

  • Fab news Barb - will be sending good vibes your way on Friday. Hope pain meds work well too without major side effects.

    Lots of hugs,

  • So, so pleased.  Sending love and strength for tomorrow xxxxx

  • Well the pain meds didn't work very successfully! Took the first one (slow release 12 hours) at 8am. Felt a bit queasy and sweaty during our morning walk. Took a quick fix about 4pm and projectile vomited (sorry TMI) about 45 minutes later - felt wasted. Read the paperwork and it didn't mention anything about taking with food but I seem to have lost my appetite a bit at the moment.

Tried to get back on to GP's but they should call me today. The paperwork says the tablets might make you feel nauseous at first but I can't afford to possibly lose one of the new Immunotherapy treatments I'll be given so back to the co-codamol and possible constipation - it'll probably be a side effect of the treatment so better the devil you know!

Fingers crossed it goes well Friday!

    Hugs, Barb x

  • Oh no Barb you poor thing. I was hoping that the pain relief would help. I was given short tec and long tec which where slow and quick pain relief.

I was fine on these with paracetamol and Ibroprfen.  The hospital explained that it's like a pirimid approach and the 12 hr slow release was the base and then the short tech was the middle and every 4hrs to top it up with the paracetamol and Ibroprfen.  I hope your GP can issue you something  to better suit you.

Best wishes for tomorrow Barb, we will all be holding your hand xxx
