Hi Carol nad and a warm welcome to the Online Community. Here you'll find a lovely group of supportive ladies who have all been exactly where you find yourself now. Any possibility of cancer diagnosis brings all sorts of stress and fears and if anyone can hold your hand and reassure you, we will as you’re not alone in this. Between us we’ve accumulated lots of knowledge which we’re all happy to share
I think that you're experiencing anxiety and probably a mild form of shock. I didn't actually have any womb pain, just a slight pink spotting years after I'd had my menopause. Is that a typo in your second to last sentence? Don't understand it!
It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and how you came to find yourself here. Why not take a few moments to update your profile. It's always helpful for us to read if we want to ask you questions and you also won't end up repeating yourself. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”). You can amend or update it at any time. If you’re not sure what to write, just click on my username.
If you want to ask any of us any questions please come back and do so. There's always someone around and we can offer a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold or listen to a rant, we’re here for you.
It might also be a good idea to download this booklet Understanding Womb (Endometrial) Cancer. I found it really informative and helpful.
Click on the link I’ve created to find out more information covering diagnosis and treatments for Womb cancer.
You might also find this link to what to take in my overnight bag useful for when you have surgery.

Hi Carol
Endometrial cancer typically has very few symptoms and it could even (and often does) go unnoticed. All I had was very slight pale pink spotting when I wiped after having a wee, and that was it. I didn’t feel unwell at all during diagnosis, operation or treatment, and got a bit sick of people saying “oh but you look so well!”
So either something else is going on, eg an infection, or it’s anxiety related like MrsBJH said. Hope the CT goes ok, and that you get the results soon. In the meantime you could call the Macmillan phone helpline for support which is open 8am-8pm 7 days a week.
Hi Carol,
I had pain, bleeding and nausea when I was referred by GP. I didn't have many investigations pre op and the surgery happened quite quickly.
I know that some hospitals have delays reporting CTs at the minute, therefore I would ring your Consultants secretary and make sure they know about your pain as your report may be given priority. Take care and best wishes,
A x
Hi Carol
Do you have a date for your hysterectomy yet or just the pre op? I was diagnosed 1A serous grade 3 earlier this year. I have recently finished my treatment plan and have my 2nd Gynae check up appointment this week.
It won't be long now Carol bless you and you too will be on the road to recovery. There are lots of ladies on this site that have had the same diagnosis as us and years later they are doing well, so there's no reason why we won't be like them too.
Have you been given anything for the pain?
MarmiteFan did a really good hysterectomy blog of her experience and I found it so helpful even though my operation was robotic surgery, unfortunately i couldnt find it to send the link, but you could ask her to send you the link if you want it.
I'm not the best at sending links I hope the one below works for you on tips for what to pack for your hospital stay, hope it helps.
