Hi to anyone who can share information about a similar experience. I was diagnosed wirh uterine cancer last year. It was high grade and staged at 3A after my radical hysterectomy. I had 6 monthly chemotherapy sessions and in Dec was told there was no visible evidence of cancer cells. I recently had another CT scan and have been diagnosed with peritoneal cancer. This cannot be cured but will start 3 month cycle of carboplatin to see if the tumours have shrunk or stopped growing. Any words of hope or encouraging stories?
Hi Nan,
Very sorry to hear that your cancer has returned. I am incurable also but this happened very quickly in my case. Please click on my username for my history. There is a group on here for people with incurable cancer and they are good fun and enjoy a laugh. Most of them have outlived their prognosis and are making the most of life, as I myself am trying to do. I recently had counselling which I have found has made a difference. I was referred by my CNS and it was arranged by Macmillan. Is this something you would consider?
I am currently having chemotherapy and have had the 3rd cycle and a CT to see if it is working. I see the Consultant on Thursday to be told either way. The chemotherapy worked for you last time, so hopefully will work again. Stay positive and I wish you all the best for your treatment. Keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on. There is a chemotherapy thread on here if you need support or advice.

Hi Amanda
Thank you for replying to my post. I'm very sorry that you are going through this too. I hope that you have good news on Thursday.
Thank you for your positive message. I am trying to stay positive but it isn't easy...this was a real shock as I thought I had done so well after my hysterectomy and chemotherapy.. I haven't asked for a 'how long' from the oncologist because I daren't. I have read up on the Internet and it doesn't look good..
The group of people thst you mentioned with incurable cancer, have any of them been diagnosed with peritoneal cancer?
Thanks again for taking time to respond to me.
Take care xx
Helen
Hi Nan7. I'm also pretty well in the same boat. I was diagnosed with stage 1b grade 3. Had 3 sessions of Brachytherapy. About a year later I found it has metastasized to my Peritoneum, pelvis, omentum and above vaginal cuff with lesions on spleen and liver. So I too am incurable. Had 6 cycles of chemo and last CT scan showed they're hardly visible.
So life's thrown a curved ball at all of us but for myself I feel well apart from Peripheral Neuropathy due to the chemo. I have mostly up days but sometimes down days.
I'm going to suggest you join me in the Incurable cancer, patients only group. There you'' be able to talk about your fears and share your worries and would you believe it have a laugh we've all developed a very quirky sense of humour for obvious reasons!
Looking forward to seeing you there, hugs, Barb xx

Hi Barb, I'm not sure if I've already replied to your post but would rather do it twice than not at all.
It was kind of you to reply and share your story too. I hope that you continue to do well.
I hope that the chemotherapy will show some improvement by shrinking the cancer tumours or at least prevent further growth. I'm trying everything possible to fight this for as long as I can including some unconventional treatments. I'll let you know how I get on.

I was diagnosed eight years next month with Stage3A Grade 3 Endometrial adenocarcinoma I had total. Hysterectomy with ovaries cervix fallopian tunes and pelvic lymph nodes removed I declined the offered 25 fractions of pelvic external radiotherapy I recovered from the laparoscopic surgery very quickly and so far I have had no post op problems I must say my surgeon does not endorse the no lifting any thing more than a cup of tea and thinks it is outdated nonsense Obviously no heavy lifting but recommends a return to normal activities as soon as you feel comfortable I appreciate this is controversial and we must be guided by our own consultant who is aware of our different circumstances I only saw the same lovely surgeon regularly for about 5 years He examined internally and externally and was so kind and reassuring he gave me so much confidence He did say you can never say never concerning recurrence but assured me should that happen we would start treatment quickly I wish you the same happy outcome I have had and would add try not to worry or overthink Enjoy every day Who knows what the future holds for any of us Very best wishes to all the ladies on the forum Petronella
