Hi Everyone, Well it’s been just over 3 months since I had my hysterectomy.and about two months since I was told by the gynaecologist that I’d had stage 1 grade1 womb cancer but a slight abnormal cell reading was discovered in the left ovary during my histology, and I was being referred to the haematology department for tests just to be safe.
That appointment is on 12th April and I’m going into panic mode purely because I don’t have a clue what happens next if the test results are bad, and the little mind gremlins are playing with my thoughts and got me imagining the worst. I’m wondering if I can still contact the nurse I was assigned when the womb cancer was first diagnosed even though my surgery is over and done with. I just need someone to chat to that can tell me what to expect, and lay these unhealthy thoughts to rest. I know I’ll be fine and able to cope with whatever happens once I know what to expect treatment wise if the results aren’t what I hope for.

Hi Angie.
Nice to hear from you again but sorry you're back in worry mode again. Like NannyAnny, I've no knowledge about haematology but I'm sure your CNS nurse won't mind if you give her a call. You could also Ask a nurse here on the Macmillan site but you'll need to allow 3 days for a reply. Give your GP a ring, they might shed some light.
Have a calm Easter, sending hugs, Barb xx

Hi NannyAnny,
Sorry for the long delay in answering your reply but things got a little hectic for a while. My brother tested positive for Covid, but wasn’t showing any symptoms. He lives on his own so the family were all sitting anxiously waiting for the phone call, saying he had started showing symptoms, but it never happened. He completed his self isolation and was given the all clear to go back to work. Relief all round for the family. I’ve been for my haematology appointment and part of me wishes I hadn’t. They think the cells found in my ovary during the after surgery check are lymphoma, they’re not 100% sure, which is why I was sent to haematology. They checked my neck and spine for lymph nodes and they’ve taken 3 vials of blood for more tests. I’ve also to go for a full body CT Scan and once the scan results are in I’ll have a telephone consultation with haematology specialist and find out what happens next. Looks like I’m back in the waiting zone again. Only good thing is that the cells they are worried about have already been removed so I’m hoping that the chances of me getting the all clear are really good.

He lives on his own so we were all sitting anxiously waiting for the phone call, saying he had symptoms and was going into hospital but it never happened. Hope all is good with you and yours. Are you allowed to see family and friends yet? I’m looking forward to Friday when we’re allowed to leave our local council area and I can go visit my mum for the first time in a year. Probably need to take lots of tissues with me.
I went to my haematology appointment on Monday and part of me wished I hadn’t. They think the cells found in my ovary during the after surgery check are lymphoma, they’re not 100% sure but they were registering abnormal, which is why I was sent to haematology. They checked my neck, spine and underarms for lymph nodes and they’ve taken 3 vials of blood for more tests. I’ve also to go for a full body CT Scan and once the scan results are in I’ll have a telephone consultation with haematology specialist and find out what happens next. Only good thing is that the cells they are worried about have already been removed so I’m hoping that the chances of me getting the all clear are really good. Looks like I’m back in the waiting zone again. I’ve been in here that many times now I might think about redecorating the area.

Hi Abs,
Lets hope they are just being cautious!!! During my scans they found that my thyroid had been growing down the back of my neck, and the gynae lot insisted I got checked out. I worked myself up for two operations, but the throat lot weren't a bit worried, and I have been signed off!!!! Whew!!!!
Glad your brother is OK. This sure is a strange virus. I'm pretty sure my daughter and grand daughter had it back it February last year before we knew much about it. The grand daughter was ill and not herself, and we visited to keep the daughter company. We didn't become ill, but my daughter was a few days later. No testing then, so we will never know!!! Seems too much like a coincidence to me, though. xxxx
