Hi there I had hysteroscopy done under GA for post menopausal bleeding, cyst on cervix, thickening  & adenomyosis ( which doc said don't worry about)

That was the 1st of March. Consultant said it could be up to 6 weeks before I hear anything back... I'm under NHS not private .... In the interim I found a lump on my breast & gp checked an am on fastrack for imaging etc.

My question is how long did you wait for biopsy results for womb & cervix via NHS & how long for breast biopsy via NHS.

I have called gyny ward where hysteroscopy was done & they said they will try & get consultant to call me. I also asked nurse on here & she said it can take a while.

If anyone can comment that would be great on how long it took for womb cervical biopsies to come back versus breast biopsy.

Thanks X

  • Hi there

like you I’m NHS I waited 4 weeks for biopsy results, 3 weeks for appt with consultant (17 Feb)  an I’m typing this from my hospital bed having had my hysterectomy and lymph nodes removed  12th March. It may be different in Different parts of country - I’m inNHS Scotland, Edinburgh, Lothian.

  • Hi Inpain2021. I had my hysteroscopy & biopsy done under epidural at Grantham on Friday 17th July 2020 and results via Lincoln on Monday 3rd August, so 2 weeks.

    Hope that helps, Barb

  • Hi there,  I was diagnosed with a small polyp by hystoscapthy, this was removed again by hystoscapthy around 4 weeks later, I  was told I'd get the results in around 6 weeks by post. I  then received a letter about 10 days after with another appointment with a different consultant,  I tried to change this appointment as I  Had something else on that day, but they talked me out of it saying the appointment was urgent  it was  grade 1 cancer, a total shock.
