Hi all,  I'm new to this group but not new to Macmillan. Had a vulvar biopsy on 7th February and today I received letter confirming Vin3,  classic P16 diffusely positive (whatever that means).  Consultant also advised it is pre cancer and no evidence of cancer Fingers crossedBeen told will be removed by surgery.  Also received preop appointment.

Scary stuff, not sure how I feel or what's  going to happen.  Anyone out there who can offer advice, support ....anything, then please let me know.  Thanks in advance.   xox

  • Hey Pariscat, iv had 4 surgery's for this, freeze ur sanitary pads that will help to cool u down, ask ur Doctor if he/she can prescribe lidocaine gel, it's a numbing gel, and as the other girls have said loose clothing, I also used the incontinence pads just to bulk me up so I was sitting directly on the chair causing more pain... Hopefully u will be OK an not in to much pain x

  • Hi  ,

I seem to recall my biopsy results taking around 2.5 weeks. Although I am sure, like most things,  it will vary from hospital to hospital. So you could get yours sooner or later.

I wish you the best of luck with your results.

I am here if you have any questions or would like to chat.

    Take care,

    Vulval cancer warrior xx

  • Hi Maj,  Nice to hear from you.  I had surgery to remove VIN3 March 2022.  The operation went well and all vin3 was removed.  I have regular checkups every six moths and to date all is good.  Phew, what a relief.

How long have you had vin3?  Would love to hear from you if you want to chat.  x

  • Hi Vulval Cancer Warrier,

How are you....I hope you are ok and keeping well .  Recently had my check up and have been told all is good and no signs of vin3 phew!!  Next appointment is January 2024.

I hope your appointment went well for you and you are clear.

Don't know about you, but having vin3 and breast cancer, I frequently feel as if I'm living on a knife edge.  Don't get me wrong, I'm getting on with my life and doing the best I can but....at times can't stop thinking about "what if"....does my head in at times.  Well, that Is my moan for today..now I must be grateful for my results.

I really hope your appointment went well for you and you have good results.  Take good care of yourself.

    Pariscat Xx
