Hello everyone. I had eary stage vulva cancer operation in March 2017 and have been in remission ever since.
I have just had biopsy taken this week and have been warned cancer appears to be back but covers a wider area and will need radio or chemotherapy first.
I haven't had radiotherapy or chemotherapy before.
Am waiting for results of biopsies and am having a CT scan tomorrow.
Grateful if i could have any tips on how to cope with radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
Hello there.
Really sorry that you have to go through this again.
I had vulva cancer surgery in September 2018 and this was followed quickly by chemo- radiotherapy. I had radiotherapy for 5 weeks with a low dose chemo once a week. Chemo wasn’t as bad as I expected but it was a low dose. Radiotherapy made me tired and towards the end skin got sore but there was always something offered to help the discomfort. A cool fan and no underwear was pretty effective - just had to make sure the curtains were drawn !!!
I do hope that you will have some better news after the tests and scan.
Sending you best wishes x
So far so good thanks - I do have to work hard to push those negative thoughts away.
Let me know if I can help at all. X
