I had my VIN3 operation 6 days ago, I'm washing my vulva twice a day , using shower, and I'm taking ibuprofen & paracetamol for the pain. I'm experiencing some yellowish discharge , not a great deal , but I can feel it when I pass it. Is this normal in the healing process??
My anxiety is high ,as I'm thinking ,and hoping it's not a infection & I get the all clear soon xx
Please could anyone advise,if they experienced something similar. Xx
Hi Blondi,
I’ve had VIN3 WLE twice. If it’s oozing I would recommend speaking to a nurse for advice. If you’re hospital don’t provide this service I would call your GP.
I didn’t have this happen myself if I’m honest but I wouldn’t take any risks in case of infection.
I hope you’re feeling ok as it’s not the easiest of times.
Best wishes x
Thanks for your advice, I will contact the hospital in the morning.
I was quite fastidious with keeping clean and dry down there whilst healing. After showering I used my hairdryer on its coolest low setting to help dry it. I use an emollient cream now in the shower around my whole area down there.
Good luck x
Hello Blondi, I agree with the other ladies here about you seeking advice. I also was really fastidious in keeping clean. My op was two years ago and I still use a peri bottle to clean myself, rather than keep having to go in the shower. Also use hydromol cream on my scar tissue, which helps with the dryness and slight discomfort. It is early days for you but best to be having advice. Hope all goes well with your recovery. Don’t overdo things. Any worries then we will try to help. Take care.
Hello Blondi,
I had a WLE for vulva cancer 3 years ago and I was advised to wash the aera every time I passed urine and pat dry with absorbent towel. I used a shower head for 6 weeks and I never got an infection in that area. I was also lucky I never had any pain and stopped the pain killers when I got home 3 days after the operation. Like the other ladies said would definately get this checked out. Please update us all on how you get on.
