I posted a few weeks ago while waiting for biopsy results.  Came back with

2/3 VIN,  I had the op for removal yesterday and came home last night.  A bit sore (?very sore), but sitting on my new comfort ring covered by cloth thingy supplied by hospital.  Hope this is it.  the skin was swnt for biopsy to make sure all removed and confirmation of diagnosis.

In the op itself the only glitch was anaesthetic,I was supposed to have a spinal block but  it proved impossible to find the spot and a nerve hit and leg still aches. So had to have had to go for full anaesthetic.

It has been a bit of a roller coaster, but thankfully all proceeded quickly.

Good luck for every one else out there

Update, wound is still bleeding badly.  The nurse I spoke to on this site was fantastic and I now have an appointment with the consultant tomorrow to be assessed.  Wish me luck

    Hi Judith

Hope you get on well tomorrow and they are able to sort things.

I had a vulvectomy in March and had several biopsies before that. Do you get any support from macmillan  through your hospital? I found them so helpful and they’re my go to for any concerns at all.

I had quite a lot of bleeding too following my surgeries and was given some oral antibiotics for a bit of an infection and it all stopped fairly quickly after that so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you too :)

Thanks Laura, that is very helpful and hopeful.  I have not really had much support from hospital - but they are responding quickly.

It’s good you’ve been able to get an appointment. Hopefully you will start to feel much better after that.

I must be lucky then as I was assigned a Macmillan nurse at the hospital and they’re almost like a key worker for me so follow up on anything needed and are always there for me to call and speak to.

its good that you’ve been able to speak to someone from Macmillan through this though,

    Thanks Laura

I saw Dr at hospital this am and now have antibiotics for infection.  Apparent the surgery did not get everything they wanted to and biopsy results haven't come back yet.  I am now expecting an appt in 6 weeks to discuss any possible further treatment.  Also the local MacMillan nurse rang me today so the support is there.

Hope all is well with you.

Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in then-sounds like we have had some similar experiences. You’ll start to feel so much better I bet if your body has been trying to fight off an infection all that time.

    Hope they do the trick!

    Hi Laura

Much better today.  The bleeding is not so bad and I feel more motivated to do things,   I reacted badly to one of the two antibiotics I was given and had to stop

    Hi Judith

So glad to hear you’re feeling better - such a great feeling when you finally have a bit of motivation isn’t it. And that will come and go-make sure you take it easy though too ;) xx

Judith, I am so happy that your bleeding has gotten better and that you were seen and got an antibiotic. I'm glad that you have support from your nurses. Please keep us posted as to how your pathology results come out.

    Sincerely,

    Lisa
