EMPD Treatments

ClaraJ, so sorry to hear you’ve had to have four surgeries and awaiting more testing. Those of us women on this site sure have been through hell and back. I don’t mean to sound uneducated but I’m not sure what EMPD is? Could you be so kind to explain? I’ve had more vulvar surgeries than I can count now along with chemo and radiation. I wish I never would’ve had the radiation and just stuck with the surgeries even though they’ve taken away almost all of my woman-hood. If you are talking vin or VCancer some ladies speak of things I haven’t heard of but I’ve been dealing with VIN, Lichen Sclerosis, Vulvar Cancer recurrence and now metastasized to my bladder all since 2007 and I haven’t heard of any new treatments at Mayo Clinic in the USA where I go. 

Id love to hear if you’ve had or heard of other treatments.

I was also diagnosed with EMPD and was due to be treated with imiguinod cream as I was reluctant to undergo surgery. Prior to starting this treatment I had several biopsy’s taken. Unfortunately this unexpectedly showed that I also had vulval cancer so this treatment was not an option any longer. I had researched it quite thoroughly and sought a 2nd option so I think it is a viable option for treatment. It would also not rule out surgery at a later date. I hope this helps you in dealing with this horrible disease.
