Hi everyone,
Today I went to the dermatologist after a GP referral (which I had to push for as they felt it was fine). I have a mole on my clitoral hood that used to be flat and has grown into a very tiny ball. The consultant has said that it had signs of something that began with A? I believe it was them saying it looked like it had been bleeding as it had patches of black pigment. And some other words I didn't understand and a dimple in the middle.
I am now due to have it removed in a couple of weeks and tested for malignancy. They said that they will do local anesthetic and chop it out and do a few stitches. It is on the thin flap of skin next to the clitoris and he said they injections could cause a loss of sensitivity (which terrifies me).
I was wondering if anyone else has been through this and could share their experience.
Hello GFA92
Sorry you are going through this. I haven’t had the exact same experience as you, but did have a local anaesthetic to take biopsies from my labia, but not my clitoris. I should contact them again and get them to repeat what they told you, as it is difficult to take in what they are saying. Then you can understand fully what they think.
I hope all goes well with your procedure. Keep in touch as we will may be able to help you.
Elaine
