Hi. I had a vulvar biopsy 12 days ago and I was told results can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks. It seems like a long time to have to wait and I am already so anxious waiting g for my results. I was wondering how long you all have waited for results and do they normally come back faster if it is cancer?

It can be very difficult waiting for biopsy results but it’s best to try and keep yourself busy while you wait.
The time it takes is usually dependent on how busy the particular lab is where your biopsy is being analysed, and how quickly your hospital can turn things around. The time it takes to receive your results does not necessarily mean good or bad news-it’s more about staff resources and availability, so you can’t really make any assumptions about what the results might be.
Hopefully your results will be available at the quick end of the suggested waiting time of 2-6 weeks, but unfortunately there’s no way of knowing, and everyone will have different experiences.
