Worried about Lump!

Hey guys,

I have a big lump inside my vagina, I'm having a lot of back and womb pain. My left leg is also swollen. The lump itself is rock hard at the bottom and covered by what feels like a water balloon. I've had a Bartolin's cyst before but this feels nothing like it! I've just gone through the menopause and I haven't had any bleeding, just awful bloating, running to the loo and th awful pain! I've  realised I've had this lump for years, I never paid it much notice as I thought it was part off my anatomy it was so hard! I had been having pain after sex and feeling sick but I ve so many other ailments it didn't register (I had a 3cm benign lump removed from my thyroid in Nov). I've booked with my gp for next week but I'm really worried...hoping it will be a cyst or maybe prolapse. Apologies for asking but what did everyone's lump feel like? This feels weird, there's at least 2cm thickness of rock hardness running the whole length of my vaginal wall, then the whole thing is enclosed in a massive watery balloon.

  • Oh lordy...that must have been terrifying! Thank goodness it has all worked out and hopefully not more medication 's but if they're needed what can be done! My wife's cousin is currently in hosp with multiple pulmonary embolism 's in her lungs is that possible or have I got that wrong? I'm a bit foggy with details atm but worrying time. No antibiotics given even ones to have in case I need them. I'm just at a loss, no further forward with anything really and I look ill, very worried! Anyhow I'm glad you've got some energy and motivation, long may it continue!! xx

  • Yes, it’s  possible to have multiple embolisms in the lungs-how scary and horrible for your wife’s cousin. I hope she’ll be ok. I ended up on blood thinning injections (self administered) for a month and tablets for about 6 months overall after my embolism. I’m happy things time to just be taking tablets this time!

No wonder you’re at a loss…this has been going going on for months for you with no answers and it’s hard to know what to suggest. I don’t know how you are coping-I would have put in formal complaints long before now, but you have been very patient. It must be awful feel so unwell and be feeling no-one is listening.

  • Such a scary thing to have happened to you, glad you're no longer on the injections, think you've enough to be managing! I'm guessing the cousin will be on something similar and I think she's getting out tomorrow as everything is looking good. You just don't know what's around the corner! I don't know what to do anymore, just praying the mri will show what's going on when I eventually get it. Xx

  • Had an awful weekend, my bowel is playing up now a lot off pain, and change in habits, used to be regular as clock work but now less and less. Don't think it's constipation been eating more fruit and drinking plenty, plus small walks! Freaking tbh, something definitely off! Making a doc appointment! x

  • Oh my…what can you deal with next? Definitely get yourself to the gp. See if she suggests a FIT test which measures occult blood in your stool…I’d be hoping she might suggest some blood tests but there is so much going on it must be hard to know what to test. Please make sure you don’t leave the gp with some plan for action, and make sure you ask for an update on where you are with your next appointments. So sorry you’re feeling so rubbish…

  • Feeling so unwell ugh, my wife made an appointment for me with a different doctor to see if it would help speed things along but it's not until Monday...I'm not sure what to do...I might just phone and try and get the next Dr available..Energy has just plummeted...wife freaking thinking I'm dying so I'm just trying to keep things calm and trying to continue on as best I can but it is really worrying, I am punctured and in pain all the time. Hope you're doing ok!! xx

  • It’s so difficult trying to get an appointment with any gp these days-took me most of the day yesterday between completing the app to explain my problem, being triaged, and eventually speaking to a gp-still didn’t get an appointment though! I’ll need to wait for a referral and I checked the waiting times for that particular clinic and it’s 6 months so nothing will be happening any time soon.

Being in pain all the time really brings you down-it’s hard to cope with life in general when you have that constantly. Can you try phoning first thing in a morning and asking for any available gp as you feel you need to be seen urgently? You’ve had a terrible time of waiting so far…

  • Can't believe you aren't able to get an appointment quickly with everything that has happened with you! Is everything ok? Did you eventually get one? Appointment this afternoon thank god, things not good, punctured, breathing not great, feeling weak and dizzy, 8 wks now I've had a cough. Bottom off neck slightly swollen think there's a gland there. Could be my immune system is struggling and hopefully an antibiotic/inhalers might sort it. Don't know what's going on with the bowel, down to twice a week if lucky, diet hasn't changed. Again could be everything that's going on. Just want to rest in bed all the time but pushing myself to keep moving a bit lol Womb pain still there, with random places joining in..very weird! Anyhow I hope you're doing well! xx

  • Hi

How did you get on at the doctor? You have so much going on it’s just crazy. You’re doing well to keep moving about, at least a bit. You really can notice muscle wastage from lying in bed but I’m not surprised that’s where you want to be when you’re feeling so bad.

I wasn’t able to get an appointment at all to be seen-my request was closed down as “actioned” on their system as the dr wants me to be referred to a clinic. Since she hasn’t seen me in person I have no idea if that’s the right decision, or even the right clinic, since she didn’t know where it was based! So now I need to wait for the referral appointment to come through, for an appointment around October. Of course if I need to be at a different clinic that’s 6 months wasted and the whole referral process starts again. Very infuriating!

Hope you’ve had a more successful time with your doctor!

  • That's awful...especially with illnesses as serious as yours. I hope it gets sorted soon and it is the right place! Well I got steroids, antibiotics and the best bit a referral for a chest CT scan. I've been wanting one for ages, to check what was happening with the breast and rib pain. Students where with her, which I think helped as she seem's to be more thorough. She dismissed the node swelling below my neck without even looking at it, and where it is situated is supposed to be a tell tale sign off womb cancer that has spread to the lungs. But I will try not to get ahead of myself. I'm like a zombie, twenty tablets a day and that's with removing painkillers, my stomach wouldn't take much more I think. I've to make another appointment off course for my bowel issues and I'm going to ask for a 'mot ' off bloods. No sign off the Tonsilectomy or MRI and I'm switching from being terrified to I'm just unlucky and that it's all to do with my immune system. The cough is awful, dying down a bit thank goodness but I just don't have the energy for it! The doctor said it may be hard to get rid off, the joy! Anyhow I hope everything is relatively ok for you! x
