Hi, I was diagnosed on Tuesday 11th February, although not a shock that I had breast cancer, the shock was this triple negative.
I start my treatment on Thursday by having a magseed put in, then Tuesday 25th an injection of dye in my lymph nodes, with a lumpectomy and some lymph nodes taken on 26th.
Results in around 3 weeks so not a long time to wait.
I feel scared, even though I've been well informed and supported so far.
Hi Tri Neg 2025
I was diagnosed with TNBC in April 2022 so have a good idea how you're feeling right now. Like you, I had a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy so I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about these operations.
Wishing you all the best
Hi
I have been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma grade 3 triple negative on the 7th February.
I was down to start chemo but with having previously had a Heart Attack etc. The oncologist didn't want to do chemo yet so surgery first.
My dilemma is which type; large lumpectomy, or mastectomy with limited options of reconstruction. I'm overweight and due to heart issues they don't fancy long surgery. I'm hoping lumpectomy will be enough but in the meantime my gene testing will take 2 months.
Feeling very stressed overwhelmed and unsure. If I had mastectomy I may or may not have to do radiotherapy?
Would love to have experiences that are similar to help me.
Thanks Nicky
