  • Hi Geeze welcome to the forum.. I expect it will depend on what kind of treatment that your having. That said I'm sure a small amount of alcohol to celebrate such a milestone would be allowed..However just to say that the alcohol may take effect quickly especially if you haven't Been drinking for a while.. Just be cautious and careful and sorry if I'm.sounding like a party pooper but enjoy yourself and kick up them heels High heel . Gail

  • Thank you I’ve currently completed cycle 1 of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. It’s all within reason I suppose just need to see how my body takes alcohol. And thanks I’m letting my hair down Rofl

  • Hi. I actually asked my consultant about this at my last appt and he said its absolutely fine to drink alcohol with my treatment. I'm on weekly paclitaxel with 3 weekly carboplatin/pembrolizumab. He just said I may have zero tolerance so to be careful and obviously if you get a bit tipsy it could compromise your immunity with hugging people etc. I don't drink a lot but like a couple glasses at a weekend. I had 2 glasses of wine last week at a girls lunch and was absolutely fine, just like normal.

He did say to me that being diagnosed with cancer is the most traumatic experience to go through and to take our luxuries away, would be cruel! So he said to enjoy life as normally as possible, have some wine, eat the chocolate because if it helps out mindset, then that will help us fight this fight with more positivity! Good luck and happy 40th!! Xx
