Hi all
having had some breast pain for maybe a month I found a lump, went to the GP first week in November and now have a triple negative diagnosis with a 25mm tumour and am starting chemo 3 days before Christmas. Oh, and my marriage broke down in June so I’m doing this on my own. 2 brilliant teenage girls (17 and 14) who I know will help where they can but I don’t want to burden them too much and am so scared about how this is all going to work.
Sorry you find yourself here. Chemo just before Christmas sounds miserable so I hope you have family or friends supporting you. Assuming they are starting you on EC, you may well find the steroids they give you alongside it make Christmas Day itself ok. Take it one day at a time, keep a symptom diary and once you know the pattern, plan nice things for the better days. Here’s a link to the blog I have been keeping, which includes my chemo experience. community.macmillan.org.uk/.../a-trip-with-triple-negative-breast-cancer
