Hi,
does anyone have a lot of pain after filgrastim injections? And how do you cope with it? I find it worse that the chemo and have had a horrific week in pain and I’m due chemo again tomorrow. I’m exhausted and struggling to sleep or move around. Pain in legs, arms, hands, wrists, collar bones etc. Tried codiene and sleeping tablets. Also had magnesium baths
thank you
Hi Fiona,
i had Paclitaxel/carboplatin and filgrastim tummy injections last year for TNBC. I only had bone pain in my knees, legs and lower back.
i took 1 250g paracetamol and 400g ibuprofen and did ease the pain.
maybe call ur bc nurse. You shouldnt have to be in that much pain. Good luck. Mini mad xx
Hi, I got bad lower back pain after the first lot, I tried deep heat for the first time, fell asleep and when I woke up it had virtually gone. This second round I have bad upper thigh bone pain. Paracetamol only works for half an hour, so I tried one of the painkillers Naproxen and it’s helped. They should be giving you painkillers. Hope it’s improved x
That’s good you have a break from it soon then..we will get there !

When I was going through chemo 4 years ago there was a hint that Clarityn anti histamine helps with pain after these injections. The oncologist did not know why it helped but it seemed to do do. Might be worth a try. I also found a hot water bottle helped.
