Any tips on side effects of Docetaxel

Hi everyone

I am about to finish my FEC cycle of chemotherapy and will then start with Docetaxel. Anybody on this forum who is currently on Docetaxel and can guide me as to what to expect side effects wise. I will be very grateful. TIA.

Although you haven't had any replies to your post asking for people's experiences with docetaxel, I've had a look and found these posts on the subject for you from others in the group.

Macmillan has this information on possible side effects.

Hi sorry I have only just seen your post I had my first docetaxel just over a week ago and I was not prepared to be affected so much! The worst for me was the leg pain at night. Really couldn't sleep and took 3 days to get strong painkillers. Sorry I can't really offer any advice as still going through it. Hope 2nd isn't as bad xx

sorry just saw you reply. I hope you are feeling better now. Leg pains usually do indicate the risk of deep vein thrombosis so please do see your GP or oncologist ASAP. I hope your second dose goes better. All the best and keep me updated if you can. Thanks for your reply.
