Hi everyone. How is everyone today? I’m Sarah 36yrs out. Had thyroid cancer removed in October 24. Turned into sepsis.48days life support and a tracki and now they testing for bowel, stomach cancer︎ and more so challenging days!
Although I try to always be happy and to always think of myself lucky for surviving to see life for one more day, week, month and year, but sometimes do you ever feel like life would be easier, as in less pain physically and then all the symptoms, from medication and treatment, the financial burden, the loss of friendships, relationships because they change when we get sick and are confined to the house mainly it gets so lonely and hard that sometimes I pray and ask to please fall asleep for the last time, and yet I feel bad for being honest with my feelings, as I know my loved ones need me here but today just I’m struggling.
Hello and I just want to say how brave you are to open up about how you are feeling. You have been through and continue to be going through an awful lot and carrying that burden in your head is exhausting and I know howthat feels. If you haven’t already I would urge you to speak to someone maybe your gp or a specialist nurse that you may have at hospital. Also macmillan support are truly amazing and I’ve called them a number of times sobbing. They will listen and having someone outside our family/friends is often far easier to open up to. Please please reach out for help as you are not alone.
It’s easy to say but try to stay in the present and wait to see what the tests etc show as worrying now won’t change things and you just don’t know yet. The good thing is that you are being tested and looked after medically.
Life throws many things at us but you have shown how strong you are to come through so much already. So hang on in there and keep going one day at a time. It’s ok to feel like this it’s totally normal to feel very low when things feel so bleak . It’s overwhelming but talking feelings through with a professional can help you find a way through .
I really urge you to reach out today as soon as you can . There will be help. I wish you all the very very best with your test results and just make that call x
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
