Hi,
I don't even know if I've got cancer! I went to the doctors on Thursday as I've had a sore throat for 4 plus weeks but just when I swallow. I started getting slight pain going into my ear this week. Doctor checked me over and said throat and ears are fine and is referring me to ENT for throat cancer, but not to worry. Seriously what am I supposed to do.
Was just looking for advice and other people's experiences. Was there pain extreme as mine isn't it's just annoying when I swallow and feels like something is stuck.
I suffer from depression and being positive isn't easy at the best of times.
Thanks
Hi RoxyS welcome to the forum. I am amazed at a Doctor telling you that they are referring you to ENT for throat Cancer when he has checked your Ears and throat and said all is well.? I think this could turn out to be lots of things other than Cancer and I AM shocked that a medical person has left you so worried about this by making what seems like a throw away comment from them.
Hi RoxyS, I only wish my GP had been as diligent as yours when I first complained of a lump when I swallowed! It was nearly a decade before I finally got referred and diagnosed. That said, your GP should've reassured you that there are many things that could present like this and the chances of it being cancer are small. It would be easy to say try not to worry but I know that's not easy. Just hold onto the fact that you have been referred for a checkup early and you are now in good hands. Let us know how you get on and try not to Google too much. Call the Macmillan helpline if you need to, they can provide help and advice. X

Hi, I imagine you will be on a 2 week fast track for your appointment, don't be concerned by this being faster than a usual appointment timescale it's just how they like to deal with it. (Oh and no ear pain with mine). Fingers crossed for you. X
