Hello again everyone! Since my TT and left neck dissection last year, all is going well. However every now and then my neck swells up where lymph nodes were removed. Was so worried last year and had an extra ultrasound done. They found nothing untoward and said I had some reactive nodes left in that area. It comes and goes and so does the worry. I’ve to call my specialist nurse next month if I want another scan to put my mind at ease. Anyone else had on and off swelling? Take care xx
I had swelling in the thyroid area after RAI and my neck has felt lumpy and numb in one place since my op (1 year ag now). I also have a lymph node which is raised and was before my first round of RAI which I have had an US on twice now and been reassured that there is nothing to worry about, but I am keeping an eye on it myself to make sure it doesn't get any bigger. I also had central and rh side neck dissection and the upper chest on the side felt strange for ages, but has settled now @Dexx.
Hi Petal66 lovely to hear from you. Thanks so much for your reply. Always good to hear from someone who understands. I feel as though life has changed so much this past year. What with Thyroid cancer and just recently a knee replacement. Retirement next year and hopefully onwards and upwards. I hope you are well xx
I honestly thought after last year that this year was going to be better and it wasn't. Ended up having to have a lung biopsy as the nodule in my lung had grown since RAI and two other tiny ones appeared, so have just had another round of RAI at a higher dose. Maybe get this year out of the way and next might be better. Congratulations on the retirement for next year, won't be long now, no doubt you have had the extra 6/7 years added on too as I did, but been in receipt of my pension now for around 18 months and it it does make a difference. Hope that knee is doing well and hope the neck swelling gets easier but if you are worried don't hesitate to contact the team and press them to keep a watch on you.
