Hi

I'm new to the group. I had my thyroid cancer diagnosed in 2015 after 3 years of investigations. I had 2 surgeries and radioactive iodine completed in 2016. There have been ups and downs like I am sure many of you here but had mostly been back to my 'old' self. I had surgery on my tear duct in December  2021 due to a blockage and I did not recover well. Over the last 6 weeks, I've really been struggling and have become fatigued again to the point where I am struggling with my day to day activities.

Apart from the fatigue, everything feels very different to the last time...I'm just wondering if anyone has had a recurrence and how things were for them?

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Although I'm not a member of this group I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.

I searched for previous posts which mention the word 'recurrence' and found these for you to have a look through. Although some of them are quite old you could have a look through them and respond to any of the more recent ones if you felt the poster might be able to answer any questions you might have.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

I'm sorry to hear about what you have been going through...strength to you xx
