Hi all,
I am new here. I have been diagnosed with metastatic thyroid cancer mid July and had a left selective lymph node surgery at the end of August. This is my 2nd time round fighting the battle. My 1st time was February 2015. I will be starting my RAI treatment in 4 days.
How are you all coping? I am struggling emotionally with quite a bad anxiety. With everything else on my mind Covid isn't helping. There is too many people testing positive in our close circle. I got to a stage when I am scared to leave the house.
On recommendation I have joined this group, hoping it might help me to speak to people in similar situations.
Have a good day all.
Hey,
Not long now until the RAI. IIt's really not too bad at all. You can use it to completely unplug and try and rest. Or use it to have a little mini achievement, like a new skill like starting to learn a new language, read a book you've been meaning to but haven't had the time or binge a boxset.
Unfortunately Covid is still causing stress and frustration for all of us. I can understand that feeling of being safer at home than going out. However getting out for a walk in a park or forest is relatively low risk and the fresh air really does work wonders. Hope you are feeling OK today.
Best wishes

Hi Portabubblejoan,
Thank you for your reply, I am currently at hospital as started my RAI today, I am feeling OK, managed to get here without catching the covid. Its not too bad, just resting and binge watching Disney +. It's my 3rd round of RAI so I know what to expect, but it still doesn't make it easier. But hoping once I return home and it's safe to do so, I'll be trying to get out for walks.
Hope you're ok and having a good day.
Best wishes
Z.
RAI - the world's most down-market spa! But I do agree, in a hectic world, it can be a relief to be forced to slow down and do very little for a few days.
And at the hospital, nobody will come near you most of the time so it's the ultimate Covid-secure experience.
Best wishes
Barbara
