I had a thyroid scan last week and the doctor has rang and said I have a U3 nodule and two U2 nodules on my thyroid hes referred me to an ENT for further tests. My concern is that for over three months I've had difficulty swallowing and really bad hoarse voice, painful headaches and pain in my neck. Does this mean I may have thyroid cancer with the U3 referral so sorry to ask when this site is for actual diagnosis but didn't know where else to go for answers.
Hi Ferny,
Prior to diagnosis I had no symptoms at all except a cyst like lump in my neck which, when removed showed thyroid cancer. As I understand it U3 is low risk for thyroid cancer but they want to double check and rule it out. I wouldn’t worry yourself too much, there are a lot of harmless explanations but you are getting very good care in that they want to be thorough. Do yourself one favour though, do not google!! Worst thing you can do. Let us know how you get on x

As far as I'm aware nodules don't always mean cancer. I had a nodule on my right thyroid lobe, and because of the size of it they wanted to remove it, but I had no other symptoms of thyroid cancer, the nodule wasn't annoying me at all. It was only once they done a partial thyroidectomy that I was diagnosed.
Your best place to get information is from your doctor. They'll understand your concerns and be able to either reassure you or give you more details.
Hope it all goes well for you!
