Hi there I’m new to all this just been told I have pupillary cancer and I just don’t know how to feel about it! I haven’t cried  and I’m a very emotional person! I just feel Nothing is this normal??? I go to the hospital on Friday to see a consult as I’ve only had my gp talk to me. I don’t know if I’m in shock or what?

thanks

  •  Princess z Sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that you have had little info from the medics. If you feel able you may find it helpful to take someone with you to the consultation  It is difficult to concentrate on getting your questions answered and take on everything you are told. I find it helpful to prepare questions in advance and write them down. After your consultation get the name of anyone who can take any follow on questions you may have. Please bear in mind that thyroid cancer has very good survival rates. Might be good to return to this forum once you are better informed but in the meantime The Butterfly trust is a good source of support.

  • Hi, I had thyroid removal (9 hour op) followed by Radioiodine treatment, mine had spread to my lymph nodes….felt left in the dark but the journey isn’t too bad, stay positive as the survival rate is really high, the worst thing is getting your levels right after treatment in my experience, I am two years down the line and still trying to get right but stay positive:)
