Hello all,
I hope everyone’s doing alright. I just wanted to pop a message on here because I’m feeling really anxious and stressed at the moment. You’ll see on my profile I’ve had a pretty mad time with thyroid cancer so far and I’m just praying for the end of it.
Recently noticed a very small lump on my collarbone. I went straight to my consultant and a biopsy showed recurrent follicular thyroid cancer. I’ve read that recurrence is less common in follicular TC but yet here I am with my 2nd recurrence since diagnosis in 2018. As it’s a superficial node the surgery should be quite straightforward but I’ll probably need RAI again.
I guess I’m looking for reassurance. Is there anyone out there who’s had multiple recurrences? Does anyone know if recurrence occurs more in first few years post diagnosis? I am really struggling to see and end to this constant battle and it’s really getting me down. Any thoughts welcome.
Thanks for listening.
