So I just had surgery for the second time last week. Sitting watching TV and I don't even know what I was doing it must have been subconsciously poking around my breast bone and theirs a lump. I know I know I then told my other half to feel it thinking I'm being paranoid and no he felt it too. I will phone oncology in the morning but I just feel sick, not point to this post other than I need to vent.
Sounds like you know exactly what to do. If your Oncologist isn't quick off the mark, don't hold back. Call your GP and ask for an appointment. If the receptionists aren't helpful, throw in words like 'cancer' and 'lump' (you've had one, now you've found the other) and don't get off the phone until you're happy.
It's probably nothing to worry about but until a professional tells you that, you're inevitably going to worry so soonest seen, soonest fixed.
Please let us know how you get on
Best wishes

Thanks Barbara spoke to oncology literally as soon as they opened this morning and I'll get it checked at my next apt in a couple off weeks. Been told to phone them between now and then if it gets bigger or changes. Thankfully my most recent chest CT was only 7 or 8 weeks ago so I've been told it wasn't seen in that scan which is reassuring. Just trying to stay positive and hope it can be a lump and bump from my surgery last week been also told glands, lymph nodes etc can swell when recovering from surgery so hopefully that's it. Still makes me feel kinda sick thinking it's just appeared and what it's if there's more but trying to stay calm and hope for RAI quickly.
Thank for you reply you really helped me centre myself xx
Hi Dizzymum
I just saw your post from yesterday. sorry I didn't reply until now. I couldn't get onto the main site and has replied to your post to me via Gmail. I'm sure you were frightened and when you ring you just want answers right away. I really understand that. Remember we all going to be positive together and we are all holding your hand during this very worrying time.
Stay strong and when you don't feel you can be we will be strong for you. Just as you are for us.
Lots of hugs and love.

Heya
If you ignore the cancer for a minute, and just think how quickly your glands and lymph nodes pop up when you've had a cold, flu, sore throat, etc etc in the past. It's just exactly the same thing now.
There are some dead cells, and maybe some little bugs, that all need to be dealt with and removed from the neck area. So your lymph nodes are doing what they're supposed to and absorbing all the rubbish and disposing of it. So just think of them as full rubbish bags, waiting for the bin men to come round and empty them. lol. They'll go down in a week or so after the bin men have done their collection, and you'll wonder why you were worrying in the first place. ;)
