  • Heya Rosegirl,

It's low iodine, not no iodine. So you'll be fine.

  • Thank you Lass.  You always make me see things differently  I feel a little bit better  The way they make it sound is as if it's no iodine. the whole process was stopped the first time because I had a bowl of almond milk so it was completely abandoned and I had to wait two months

  • Ummmm.....What? Which hospital is this at? (if you don't mind me asking!)

And what's wrong with almond milk? Most of them don't have any iodine in them and are fine.

There's also a massive debate amongst medical staff about whether there's any point to LID or not. Some people aren't told to do it at all because their doctors don't believe there's any benefit to it.

So if your hospital is being a bit of a nutcase over it, don't tell them you had the lozenge. It's not worth the possible complete and utter over reaction again! Lol. Get those cells zapped so you can move on! Smiley

  • Thanks Lass

I will defo go and get zapped

Almond milk contains sea salt which has naturally occurring iodine in high dose apparently.  I didn't even know that until my first treatment

  • Heya,

Sea salt was removed from the list of no nos a few years back. Goodness you have some strict and out of date folks. Lol

Hope the RAI went ahead though and you're all OK afterwards? Managed to get your radiation levels down enough for no restrictions?

    Hope you're home and well.
