I have had a bilateral orchidectomy because of abnormal areas in both my testicles. I am beginning to get used to it and except I am now infertile. I had sperm banked so I will be ok except for my bits looking different. I choose not to have prosthetic ones put in.

  • I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. Our son went through this( one tumour one side) in the spring and summer. It dominated his/ours every waking thought. Once he had the surgery, then chemo, which he was lucky enough to have no illness or symtoms, he/we started to put our lives back together and move forward on an upward path.He now is so much more himself. I hope that whatever treatment you have soon passes and you too start to pick up the pieces.  I went to the McMillan cafe which I found super helpful. My son chose not. They can offer great support and help get professional emotional help for people. Very best wishes. Pippa P

  • Thank you so much for the email and advice on getting support it really helps

  • Hi Pippa thank you so much for sending such a lovely message. have been through it quite a bit recently but hopefully getting on top of stuff now

  • Hi our son had a testicle removed last July and had one round of chemotherapy.soon afterwards his long term girlfriend left him and he was very down . He coped with the chemo very well, he had sperm banked and is now much better, looking forward to the future. He finds spending time in the countryside very healing and in some ways it has changed his outlook on life for the better. I fo hope you come through this and begin to enjoy life again. Sending love and best wishes
