Did any of you guys develop allergic reaction post - op to chemo, I saw in FB group that it is a thing ?
Hi
Hope the side effects for the first dose of Chemo are manageable. It’s hard to know about allergic reactions to the drugs in Chemo. The information about side effects are from the trials and also their use. I found the most common side effects were very predictable when I had chemo for both illnesses. But I did get a rare side effect which the oncologist didn’t recognise. I also know of someone who had a bad reaction and she was then given the drugs over a longer period of time.
Everyone is an individual and they don’t know how you will react. I found the first cycle the hardest because I felt really bad for three days and worried that I wouldn’t be able to tolerate more cycles. I also worried that it wouldn’t get better!! The Specialist Nurse really helped me and it was decided to reduce the dose for the final two cycles.
How are you feeling?
Jac
Oh that’s not so good. I tried to drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day but it’s not easy if you are being sick. There are lots of different anti sickness medications, I found they give you the most common ones first. But there are a number of different ones. Ondansetron was the one that worked best for me.
You will feel better in a day or so, I found day 3 to 5 the worst, then I started to feel better.
Hope you feel better tomorrow!
Jac
