I thought I'd share an update here on my Mum's treatment for metastatic stomach cancer. She's had 6 rounds so far of FLOT chemo since August and her results after the scan was stable so the plan is just to continue with another 6 rounds. I suppose it is not bad news but can't help feeling quite deflated having had hope it might do more like shrink the tumours or even wipe the tumours out which was probably wishful thinking! On a positive note, the treatment and side effects have been manageable. Just got to keep going day by day and seeing how things go, admittedly feeling sad about it all.
Thanks for the update. It’s good that your mum is managing FLOT, as it’s a tough treatment but it does affect everyone differently. It’s disappointing that the tumour hasn’t shrunk. It’s hard to keep going but try to have moments of happiness in amongst the hard times.
It’s strange but you can have bittersweet moments at the most difficult times!
Good luck!
Jac
