Just got diagnosed this Monday with stomach cancer, still don’t know what stage yet, have spent last 2 days in a state of shock , hopefully I should know more by next week,

  • Of course you’re in shock, that is understandable.

There are lots they can do so try not to panic.

My advice would be to take one step at a time and try not to let your mind make up things you do not know yet.

Wait until you hear and then go from there.

    Hope all goes well.

Take care wishing you lots of luck.

  • Hi, sorry to hear your news, it’s really hard to process being told you have cancer, you will find a lot of support on this forum, please don’t hesitate to ask any questions, someone will always try and help you.
I was treated this year and now I am doing well, so although it’s difficult to stay positive all of the time, you can survive this, wishing you the best of luck, we are all here for each other x

  • Thank you, yeah I’m doing just that just going with the flow

  • Thanks for support , am taking it one day at time now

  • Found out today tumour is T4 N1 M1

so not operable and chemotherapy is my only option I’m falling apart atm with shock, trying to be positive but just don’t know how

  • Hi Jon,

I’m really sorry to hear this news. I was 28 when I was diagnosed in March this year. Where are your mets too? There are stage 4 survivors out there so don’t lose all hope if you’re on Facebook there are a lot of useful groups you can join too. Sending love x

  • Thanks Chloe it was a rough day yesterday, but so many friends getting in touch has made me realise how much support I have, I’m just gonna do whatever it takes to manage this I’m getting more positive today this is not going to beat me, thank for your kindness it is so appreciated xx

  • Don’t give up hope Jon - allow yourself a bit of time to take in the news but then stand tall and fight this all the way. It’s hard to remain positive when you hear such shocking news but every cancer journey is unique and I have a friend who was given little chance of survival that had 2 children and a terrible husband that was so determined to live for them she’s still here doing well to this day. Sending you lots of love and positive vibes.

  • im not giving up I’ve got 3 kids, not really kids ,30,32 and 34 , I lost my wife 14 years ago to a lung disease, I saw the devastating effect it had on them , I’m going to fight this mainly for those 3, they are my world and I’m gonna be here for a lot longer for them, thanks for the support

  • Just to let you know I’m thinking of you, there’s always hope, I’m glad you have a lot of people around you that are being so supportive, take care x
