Hi

I’m currently on the long wait for post hysterectomy results for what I’m told is likely to be endometrial stromal sarcoma or a STUMP. I’ve up dated my bio with my story but just wanted to say hi.

there isn’t a great dea on info on ESS or a Stump hit both seem pretty rare so could be either.

Im told the wait is usually 4 weeks but because of Christmas it could be longer, the wait is a struggle.

  • Hi

My wife has Leiomyosarcoma and her route to diagnosis was both long and difficult. While the doctors suspected cancer she also developed pyometra and so when she had a hysterectomy it is possible they missed the primary.

Find information about sarcoma can be tricky, there is some good information on the sarcoma uk website. We are lucky in that we live quite close to Oxford and so were anyway being treated in one of the specialist centres.

Janice had treatment with two different types of chemotherapy and fortunately for us the second lot rendered her cancer stable - been like that over 10 years now with the great excitement of just the annual appointment with the consultant to check how she is.

  • Hi   I have low grade endometrial stromal sarcoma. My sarcoma is estrogen fed so I had to stop HRT and start on hormone blockers.  I have just read your bio on your profile page. The hot flushes are awful! And like you mine started straight away.

The wait for your results is very daunting I know, but it is good that you have had the hysterectomy now, you are already on your way to recovery.

Please let us know how you get on.
