Hello,

you can call me Xakkai (Zak-Kai).

I am a 17 year old, Bi, Trans-autistic student recently diagnosed with a rare-soft tissue sarcoma.

My sarcoma is called: Fibromyxoid Sarcoma (Fibro-mix-Oid). I honestly dont think many people on here would have this bcz it not on any cancer list anywhere that i can see. Dont get it confused with ‘Fibroblastic’ different cancers!.

But if you do be sure to reach out (No matter of age IDC) and we can talk! It would be nice to have someone to talk to about having this cancer.

I hope i can make a few friends on here!.

-Xakkai!

  • Hi Xakkai and welcome to the community though always a little bit sorry to see a new member join.

I thought I had heard just about every option on sarcoma but it does appear yours is extra special rare. On here I could only find one member with the same but they were last on 7 years ago. Even sarcoma uk did not appear to have any real information.

My wife's sarcoma is Leiomyosarcoma, sufficiently rare that most GP's will end up looking it up on Wikipedia - one day I will edit in my wife's name just to see it that catches them out.

Autism however I can relate to, my 17 year old son has a diagnosis of atypical high functioning autism - whenever we manage to work out what "typical high functioning autism" means we might just work out what made him atypical.

I have just found a page on the cancer research site on living with a rare cancer than might be helpful https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/rare-cancers/living-with

    <<hugs>>

    Steve
